Registration closed on Saturday to the inaugural Triton ONE Main Event at the Landing Casino & Resort, Jeju, setting an extraordinary mark of 1,046 entries for this $8,000 buy-in debut tournament.
The staggering turnout—a field split almost equally between the two starting flights—underlines the incredible appetite for the game under the Triton Poker Series banner, with the Triton ONE brand making a startling introduction to the world of mid-stakes poker tournaments.
The Triton ONE Main Event has a prize pool of $7,607,558 and will pay its winner $1,367,000. In all, 167 places will be paid, with the min-cash $12,200.
There were 496 unique players and 550 re-entries. Day 1A attracted 520 entries and Day 1B 526.
"We always have high ambitions at Triton Poker Series, and were always expecting Triton ONE to be popular," said Triton Poker Series CEO Andy Wong. "But more than 1,000 entries for our first Main Event is sensational. We're incredibly proud and happy with the turnout."
The Triton ONE festival is taking place in the days running up to the latest stop on the prestigious Triton Poker Super High Roller Series, and it's billed as a new step on the path to joining poker's elite.

In conjunction with the Triton ONE title sponsor QQPK, the new tour has tournaments with buy-ins starting at $2,000. The $3,000 QQPK Genesis tournament, which kicked off the festival in South Korea, attracted 1,185 entries, while high rollers also got a chance to sample the action with a $20,000 buy-in single day event.
Wong continued: "The idea behind Triton ONE was to provide a stepping stone for players to perhaps one day live their dreams and play on the Triton Super High Roller Series. This tournament demonstrates that it's possible.
